Curriculum vitae of Sung-Ming Yen Sung-Ming Yen received his BS degree in electronic engineering from the Tamkang University, Taiwan, in 1986. In 1991 and 1994, he received his MS and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. He is a professor of the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Central University, Taiwan, where he directs the Laboratory of Cryptography and Information Security (LCIS). His research interests include cryptography, information security, and fast computer arithmetics for cryptographic usage. Dr. Yen was a recipient of the 5th Acer Long-Tung Master Thesis Award in 1991. Dr. Yen received the best paper award of WISA 2002 granted by the Korea Institute of Information Security and Cryptology (KIISC), the best paper award of ICS 1998 granted by the Computer Society of Taiwan, and also three best paper awards of ISC 2002, ISC 2004, and ISC 2005 all granted by the Chinese Cryptology and Information Security Association (CCISA) of Taiwan. He was a consultant for GoldKey Technology Corporation, Taiwan, Network Security Technology Corporation, Taiwan, and Korea Information Security Agency (KISA), Korea on the issues of smart card security and electronic payment. Dr. Yen is the inventor of more than 20 local or foreign patents, and authored or coauthored over 100 peer-reviewed international journal or conference papers. Dr. Yen frequently acts as the principle investigator for many local and international research projects on cryptography and information security. He served in numerous program committees of international conferences or workshops of cryptography and information security.
